The Archive Detective is in Brisbane!

That’s right! For the month of December I’ll be based at the State Library of Queensland, as part of a Fellowship with the John Oxley Library.

As a departure from my regular, house-based (and admittedly fairly Sydney-centric) fare, I’ll be looking around Brisbane for some different stories to share about the people and places that make Brisbane what it is. My work here is focussing on diaries held in the archives. I’ve already found some amazing stories to tell, and it’s only day one.

I’ll also be nosing around some old buildings to see what I can find - Brisbane has some great built heritage. If you’d like to read some stories about Brisbane’s history from the John Oxley Library collection while you wait, head over to their blog here. The Archive Detective’s first Brissy post will be up soon!
